“I’ve attended a number of Enterprising Mums meetings at Sandy facilitated by Lesley. They are well structured, informative and relaxed. It’s great to meet others who appreciate the positives and challenges of running your own business. It’s a great place to share ideas, ask for advice and to learn something new. It has also been a good opportunity for me to share my Bird Table business development groups that I launched earlier this year for women who want to develop their business, and I’ve had 2 ladies sign up for spaces who I’ve met at EM’s Sandy.” – Karen Chamberlain, KC Learning & Development

“As a new business I have found the group inspiring, getting lots of helpful tips and picking up a bit of business along the way.” – Maureen Barrett, Helping Hands Office Services

“I’ve been going to the Sandy meeting for just over a year now. I do sometimes feel I’m to busy to attend as I run a very successful videography company. I work all the hours that I’m awake. I also have 2 kids (7 and 6 in age) who also take a lot of my time. But since I have been attending I have found that I have made some amazing friends. It’s so wonderful to get out the office once a month and speak to mums who are all going through similer stuff to me.

I have learnt so much through these meeting. They inspire me to get back to the office and work more productively. I have learnt how to manage my time better and how to do my accounts. I do feel I have more confidence now as a result of going.

I am so greatful that Lesley takes time out to run this group. It is a very important part of my business now to attend every month. Thank you for all your support over the past year.” – Mandy Dhillon, Vid-Ego

“Enterprising Mums is perfect for Mums in business looking for friendly & professional support with like minded ladies – a great mix of skills to help you achieve your dreams!”Glenys Collings, Juice Plus

“I have being attending Sandy Enterprising Mums for over one year now. When I first started I had no idea what a networking group could do for me or how it could help me. Through regular attendance, I have found a remarkable amount of support, guidance and friendship. I have learnt so much from the regular 1/2 hour talks that we have on different subjects from tax to personal belief in ones self, from styling yourself to how to get your one minute speeches concise, informative and short! I have found that I have grown in confidence. I thoroughly enjoy being part of Enterprising Mums and urge anybody thinking or already with their own business to attend. It could be the best decision you make to get your business known to the wider networking community.” – Louise Clifton, Business Partner with FM Cosmetics UK

“Enterprising Mums was pivotal when I got back to business after having a baby. I was intimidated by the sheer thought of business networking events – handing out cards and pitching to a room full of strangers, when I still had baby wipes still in my handbag and banana mush in my hair. But I found Enterprising Mums a warm, welcoming, encouraging environment, with great people, fantastic topics and talks, and lots of learning from others – all of which soon built my confidence and networking skills up. I also started getting jobs through the group, which helped me build my business up from the ground – and I have never looked back!” – Max Plathan-Franklin, Max Plathan Graphic Design

“I have been attending the Enterprising Mums Group in Sandy since it first started in January 2014.  I have enjoyed meeting other like-minded people and hearing about the many different businesses.  I have also found the speakers varied and very interesting from whom I have learned a great deal.

The group has grown in the past year, the atmosphere is relaxed and everyone is supportive and encouraging of each other which is great! I always leave the meetings feeling motivated and inspired and looking forward to the next one.

I was recently picked to give the ten minute talk, although apprehensive at first, it really helped me to focus and think about my business – to move it forward. Everyone’s lovely comments at the end made me realise just how much my confidence has grown over the past year – and several people approached me for bespoke pieces afterwards and possible future work too. I realise I still have a long way to go however, I think I might have given up on my dream already without the support, encouragement and knowledge attending these meetings has given me.

I appreciate a lot of work goes on behind the scenes to ensure these meetings are a success and I would like to take this opportunity to thank Lesley for all her hard work.” – Jacqui Smith Pidgeon, Pipio Jewellery
