Enterprising Mums is run by Nicky Peters.
“I am a performance coach and qualified accountant with a career spanning 25 years. I have experience as a finance professional, operations director and business owner in sectors including drug development, technology, psychometrics and a national charity. At home I am a wife, mum of two teenage girls and a breast cancer survivor.
Being a mum and following a life changing event like breast cancer, I decided it was time to make a change. Combining my professional skills and personal experiences, I launched Ultimate Woman in 2018 to empower professional women to be strong, authentic leaders of financially sound, life changing businesses. Enterprising Mums is part of this new chapter.”
Enterprising Mums was set up by Davina Farrer in 2009. Davina was juggling her business and family and was frustrated because all business networking groups were held at times that really didn’t fit with her responsibilities as a Mum, so as there was nothing out there that suited her needs, she set about creating a networking group for her and the growing number of mums in who run their own business, either working from home or at their own business premises.
Mumpreneurs, or those who have a business idea and would like to work for themselves, attend monthly meetings for networking opportunities, education and support.
In 2011 Davina handed the reins over to Kerry Haynes and Nicola Morgan. Kerry and Nicola, supported by their committee – Sara Laskey, Sema Rubins, Joanne Williams, Natalie Butler, Susan Stevenson and Lesley Whiteman, continued to grow the Hitchin group, as well as raising over £5,000 for local charities, Cancer Hair Care and Tracks Autism. In 2014 Lesley Whiteman took on the Sandy and Biggleswade license and Enterprising Mums Sandy was started. In 2015, a change in circumstances resulted in Lesley Whiteman being offered the opportunity to take over the running of Enterprising Mums!
Fast forward to 2018 and in May, Nicky Peters is taking over the reins from Lesley. Nicky was new to Enterprising Mums but has her own membership group ‘Ultimate Woman’ launched earlier in the year. Moving forward Nicky is looking to create more groups and strengthen the bond between Enterprising Mums & Ultimate Woman.
Our Hitchin group is currently closed, but Sandy is going from strength to strength.
